Its own ordering portal, no more commission

A family restaurant with an all-in buffet and live cooking, where you can also order takeaway. The website was outdated and cost a monthly subscription, and takeaway orders went through an external platform. We built a new site with its own takeaway ordering portal behind it.

The problem

  • An outdated website on a monthly subscription with a website builder.
  • Takeaway went through an external platform that takes a cut of every order.
  • The more revenue, the higher the costs.
  • A heavy takeaway menu slowed the site down.

What we built

  • A new website in the style of the restaurant: black, gold and red.
  • Its own takeaway ordering portal: orders come straight to the restaurant.
  • A price calculator shaped like a receipt: guests pick the number of people per age group and see what they will pay up front.
  • The takeaway menu reduced from 6.9 MB to 0.8 MB.
  • Its own admin area: the restaurant logs in and edits menus, dishes, prices, opening hours and photos itself.
  • Booking is prepared for a link with the restaurant's calendar.

What it delivers

  • No subscription and no per-order percentage to a platform anymore.
  • Changing a price or dish is done by the restaurant itself, instantly, without waiting for anyone.
  • Costs don't grow with revenue.
  • Next step: better local visibility in Google.
